D.I.E.T Wokha offers 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme which has been designed to improve elementary level education. It is a Diploma certificate teacher training program for both the in-service and pre-service teacher. The course designed to impart teaching skills, teaching methodology and subject-wise knowledge to teacher trainees who pursue the course D.El.Ed. academic program has a holistic mixture of educational technology, teaching skills and subject-wise knowledge

Along with 2 years D.El.Ed programme, various co-curricular activities are conducted each year for the overall development of the teacher trainees. Some of the activities are Sports week, Cultural Programme, Fresher’s day for the new teacher trainees, Farewell programme for the outgoing teacher trainees, Teachers Day, Social Work, Handwriting Competition, Painting Competition, Excursion/Educational Tours etc

The institute also offers short term courses for the In-Service Teachers and Community Based Training Programmes.

 

The two years D.El.Ed programme has the following curricular areas

  7. Towards Understanding the Self

III. Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies

a) Compulsory Value Added Course

  1. Proficiency in English
  2. ICT integration in the Pedagogical Process

 

b) Compulsory pedagogic Courses

  1. Pedagogy of English Language (for Early Primary and Primary School Child)
  2. Pedagogy of Mathematics Education (for Early Primary and Primary School Child)
  3. Pedagogy of Environmental Studies (for Primary Child)

 

c) Optional Pedagogy courses (any one elective for teaching upper primary school)

  1. Language Education
  2. Mathematics Education
  3. Science Education
  4. Social Science Education

 

d) Teaching Practice and School Internship
